The Black Jacket Symphony presents The Allman Brothers Band’s “Brothers and Sisters”
The Black Jacket Symphony announces a special performance of The Allman Brothers Band’s “Brothers and Sisters” to celebrate the life and legacy of Gregg Allman. A pioneer of Southern rock, Allman impacted musicians across multiple generations and styles. As a member of the Allman Brothers Band, he was at the forefront of 70’s rock music and garnered a rabid following as a result of their intense live performances. At Fillmore East was the band’s artistic and commercial breakthrough. Eat A Peach was in many ways a swan song for Duane. Brothers and Sisters solidified that the Allman Brothers Band legacy would continue, even without one if its co-founders. The band went on to sell millions of albums and tens-of-millions of concert tickets. Allman was once quoted as saying “I would like to be remembered as a—somebody who could rock your soul or make you cry with a song.” The Black Jacket Symphony hopes to do both as we celebrate the life and legacy of Gregg Allman with a performance of The Allman Brothers Band’s “Brothers and Sisters”—plus a full set of Allman Brothers greatest hits—live at Iron City on Sunday, June 25th.
